Dear family & friends,
We hope and pray things are well for you and you're enjoying the summer so far. We are all glad to be back in the USA.
We first arrived in Samachique in August of 2006. Our scheduled furlough (4 years later) was this coming August, specifically for taking some time to "gather our thoughts", a much needed rest for family and spend time evaluating our ministry goals and objectives. During the last few months many of you have received some updates and prayer requests regarding the situation and violence in Mexico. Due to the increased violence in Mexico so close to where we were ministering, and after considering the advise of our pastor, our families and those of you who have emailed us, we left Mexico earlier than anticipated to start our furlough. At this time we are at our church in Loveland, Colorado.
We can not thank you enough for your continued emotional, financial and spiritual support during this time. We felt your prayers as we made the decision to return to the US early. We are in the process of getting much needed rest and are starting counseling for our family for the next month in Loveland, Colorado. This has been a difficult time for our girls and Shelley and I. We ask you for your continued support and prayers as we enter and go through this process.
At this time we do not know how long we will be in Colorado. However, one thing we do know is that both of our families are very anxious to see us. We have not seen them since April 2009 and we will enjoy spending time and visiting with all of them. We will keep you all informed of where we are going to be so we can visit with you when we are rested. Please pray for our transition, the people of Mexico, Mexico Medical Missions who is still continuing to minister to the people of Samachique and what God would have us do next.
Again, THANK YOU for such an important role you play in our lives and ministry.
